Corey is a qualified carpenter, Licensed Building Practitioner (Carpentry), NZ Certified Builders member and former Auckland Council Building Inspector, with over 20 years of hands-on residential construction and building inspection experience.

Starting in the building industry at 17, Corey worked his way through the trade and qualified as a carpenter through BCITO. His experience has covered residential new builds, renovations, alterations, complex reclads and technically challenging building projects throughout Auckland and the Coromandel.

His career has included running his own building business, Done Right Construction Ltd, working as an Auckland Council Building Inspector, and spending many years in senior construction roles as a foreman and lead carpenter.

During his time with Auckland Council, Corey carried out residential building inspections across multiple stages of construction, including foundations, framing, cavities and cladding, pre-line inspections and final inspections.

After Council, Corey returned to senior hands-on construction and site management, continuing to deliver and oversee residential building projects.

This combination gives Corey experience from both sides of the building process – understanding how buildings are actually constructed on site, while also understanding the building consent, inspection and compliance processes from his time with Council.

Today, Done Right Construction Ltd trades as EPPS INSPECT – Compliance & Inspections, bringing that experience together into an independent building inspection and compliance service for homeowners, buyers, builders and property owners.

More Than Just Buildings

Outside of work, Corey is a family man and heavily involved in local sport. He coaches junior sport, including rugby league, and still pulls the boots on himself for Masters rugby league after many years playing rugby union.

When he's not building, inspecting or coaching, you'll often find him fishing somewhere around New Zealand.
