Frequently Asked Questions

How long does an inspection take?

A typical building inspection takes between 2–3 hours depending on the size and complexity of the property. We take the time to ensure no detail is missed so you receive a thorough assessment.

When do I get my report?

Same day, every time. We understand property decisions are time-sensitive, so we guarantee that your report will be completed and sent on the same day as your inspection.

Do you test for moisture?

Yes. Professional moisture meters are used as standard in every inspection to identify hidden moisture and potential leaky building risks that aren't visible otherwise.

Is drone roof inspection included?

Yes, a high-resolution drone roof inspection is included with every pre-purchase inspection report. This allows us to safely and clearly inspect roof surfaces and chimneys.

What if problems are found?

We explain findings in plain English using a traffic-light priority system: Green (No action), Amber (Monitor), and Red (Action required), so you know exactly what is critical.

Can you help with council compliance?

Yes. As a former Auckland Council Building Inspector and LBP, I have deep expertise in building codes and can help you resolve CCC, COA, and other compliance issues.

What areas do you cover?

We inspect properties Auckland-wide, from the North Shore to South Auckland and West to East. We can also travel to Northland by special request.

What specialized equipment do you use?

Our toolkit includes high-resolution drones, thermal imaging cameras, invasive and non-invasive moisture meters, and professional-grade optical cameras for detailed evidence.

Do I need to be present during the inspection?

While not required, you are welcome to attend. This allows me to point out findings on-site and answer any questions you may have about maintenance or compliance priorities.

Can you inspect a property before an auction?

Yes. Auction inspections are prioritized. Please contact us as early as possible to ensure we can complete the inspection and provide the report before the auction begins.
